Bright Green Nature receives funding from Swire Charitable Trust

26th July 2024 — Bright Green Nature is delighted to announce that it has been awarded a grant by the Swire Charitable Trust.  This funding will support Bright Green Nature’s innovative projects aimed at protecting natural habitats and fostering environmental education in the Scottish Borders.  The grant from The Swire Charitable Trust will enable Bright Green Nature to expand its conservation and restoration efforts, focusing on critical areas such as:

  • Habitat Restoration: Restoring and protecting vulnerable natural ecosystems to support a diverse range of species and improve ecosystem health.
  • Community Engagement: Developing programmes to involve local communities in conservation and restoration activities, promoting sustainable practices, and raising awareness about the importance of biodiversity.
  • Educational Initiatives: Creating educational resources and programmes for schools and communities to inspire a deeper understanding and appreciation of Nature.

Dr Karen Blackport, Chief Executive Officer of Bright Green Nature, expressed her gratitude for the funding, stating, “We are incredibly grateful to the Swire Charitable Trust for their generous support. This grant will significantly bolster our efforts to protect and restore vulnerable ecosystems and engage communities in the fight against nature degradation and biodiversity loss.  Together, we can make a lasting impact on our natural world.”
