The Wild Your Space Ambassador programme has been developed to bring the idea of small scale nature restoration to as many local gardens and small community spaces as possible. Every individual rewilding success story increases the overall impact, and where we have pockets (or islands) of thriving nature, these can become corridors of connected habitat. With homes, schools, community spaces and even businesses working together to the benefit of nature. And nobody understands the importance of encouraging numerous diverse rewilding projects more than our own Ambassadors.
Our Ambassadors are an enthusiastic group of volunteers, who give up their own time to champion the work done by Bright Green Nature, and are keen to maximise the charity’s potential impact within their own local area. Indeed, many of them have been recipients of our microgrant, and have used this for their own individual projects. They are all proud community members who care deeply about nature and are passionate about sharing ideas and best practices with others.
We believe that grass roots rewilding has the potential to restore vibrant ecosystems, empower local communities and create a sustainable future where nature and people thrive together – our Ambassadors share this vision.
Our ambassadors are provided with opportunities to connect, learn and communicate with others on the importance of rewilding through workshops, training courses, informal gatherings and other networking opportunities. Our programme is designed to be flexible and to evolve to suit the needs of our ambassadors – in their context and from their starting point.
Whether you are interested in learning how to talk to your neighbour about the benefits of nature-friendly gardening or if you have visions of turning your whole community into a bountiful oasis of native biodiversity, we’d love to hear from you!
