Bright Green Nature launches new collaborative project with SBCAN

A climate engagement project based in the landscapes around Selkirk, including Deer Park, Selkirk Hill, and a wider network of ponds, wetlands and linked habitats. The project will use these connected spaces as a living setting to help people explore how climate change is already being felt across the Borders, and how restoring damaged habitats can build resilience for both wildlife and local communities.

At the heart of the project is a simple idea: climate change can sometimes feel far away, but its effects are visible in everyday places — in falling pond levels, dry hillsides at greater risk of fire, or heavy rain running off compacted ground. By working directly with these landscapes, we can show how adaptation happens in practice and how recovering biodiversity is part of strengthening climate resilience.

Find out how to get involved this Summer through a series of practical, hands-on climate and nature activities at Selkirk Hill and the Deer Park.
