Bright Green Nature Receives Core Grant from Garfield Weston Foundation

1st August 2024   Bright Green Nature, a Scottish Borders based nature restoration and conservation organization, is thrilled to announce that it has been awarded a core grant from the Garfield Weston Foundation. This generous support will empower Bright Green Nature to further its mission of preserving and restoring natural habitats for biodiversity, and supporting sustainable local communities through promoting connectivity with Nature. 

The core grant from the Garfield Weston Foundation will enable Bright Green Nature to strengthen and build its operational infrastructure, enhance its core programmes, and expand its outreach efforts. With these funds, the organisation plans to:

  1. Enhance Restoration and Conservation Projects: Increase the scope and impact of current restoration and conservation initiatives at the organisations site at the Deer park, Selkirk and beyond.
  2. Expand Community Engagement: Foster greater community involvement through building volunteer programmes, local partnerships, and outreach activity that builds knowledge and skills development and promotes health and wellbeing.
  3. Strengthen Organizational Capacity: Improve administrative functions and support systems to ensure the long-term effectiveness and sustainability of Bright Green Nature’s mission.
