Bright Green Nature is working with Selkirk High School to plant hundreds of native trees in the ‘paddocks’ at Deer Park. The Paddocks lie on the south west perimeter of the 60 acre calcareous grassland and is the only area which is less biodiverse than the rest of the site. The creation of a small woodland in this area will provide habitat, shelter and food for the multitude of bird, mammal and insect species which live in or pass through the Deer Park.
Future activities will create native hedgerow wildlife corridors around the perimeter of the Deer Park.
